Icebergs Opening Day

The Bondi Icebergs celebrated the opening of their 83rd Winter Swimming season on Sunday the 7th of May. Over 400 members of the club lined the pool for the traditional ‘ice throwing’ ceremony. Director Jason Wingrove shot a short film of the ceremony shooting super slo-mo at 1000 frames per second.

You’ll remember last weeks earthquake and Tsunami warning for most of the Indian ocean. Our MD was visiting Sri Lanka and was quite concerned for a time, fortunately the Tsunami that reached Sri Lanka was only 30 cm’s high.

You’d be excused for thinking the guys at Universal would be quite pleased right now, they not only have the top ranking film in the country, they have the top three ranked films in the country. Battleship leads the way from, The Lorax and the old favourite ‘American Pie’.

In what is sure to be Channel 9′s biggest launch of the year, The Voice, is everywhere you look. We posted bus sides, taxi backs, bus stops and cross track posters around the country. If you haven’t seen it….well, you must be blind. First episode launched Sunday April 15. It is averaging 2.36 million viewers an episode. Congratulations Channel Nine.

Meet the stars of The Great Barrier Reef

Recently, One For All put together a sponsorship deal for Delaware North’s Heron Island resort. Sponsoring ‘Great Barrier Reef’ on channel nine was the perfect environment to advertise the island’s natural wonders. The TVC urged viewers to “come and meet the stars” of ‘Great Barrier Reef’ on Heron.

So far, bookings are looking very good.

Universal Pictures looks to have a hit on its hands with ‘The Lorax’. The classic Dr Seuss tale has been doing big business in the US and is expected to do the same here.

Is urinating in soup offensive…or just bad taste?

One For All had the extreme honour of having the most complained ad on Television in February for client – Pilot Pens. One lady complained that…

The man reads the word “leak” in the recipe he is cooking, unzips his pants and urinates into the pot he is cooking in. This is extremely offensive and makes me feel physically ill.
Aside from the obvious play on the word “leak”/”leek” the whole idea of someone urinating into food being prepared is extremely repulsive and may even give some people the idea that this appalling behaviour is funny usual or normal. It is not and I would expect that any decent person would be against at this ad and wish it to be removed from the media immediately.
The man in the advertisement URINATES into the cooking pot and makes a reference to his grandmother doing the same.

Well, I guess we won’t be getting an invite to dinner from her. For the record, the complaints were dismissed by the Advertising Standards Bureau.
